Double-Sided ID Cards

It is a type of identification card on which the information about the cardholder is printed on both sides. There are many high-volume programs and institutes in which the information about the candidate is printed on both sides. The double-side ID card is most suitable for such organizations.

The identification card of every person has real and authentic details about that person. Almost every organization these days uses the identification card to make sure that everyone working in that organization is an authentic and well-recognized person. With the use of these cards in the professional world, we have seen a fall in incidents related to bribery and other scams.

These days, organizations have started making identification cards more comprehensively. A comprehensive ID card includes more detailed information about the cardholder. When there is a lot of information to be displayed on the ID card, different companies prefer printing the information on both sides of the card.

How is double side ID card designed?

1- Know the details

The way of designing the double-sided ID card is the same as designing the traditional ID card. However, the person designing the card needs to pay more attention to the details. Anyone who designs the double side card knows which detail to add on the front and which is to be added on the backside of the card.

In general, the primary details about the cardholder such as name and picture are printed on the front side of the card, and secondary details yet important are added to the backside of the card

2- Know the orientation

When there was no concept of making the ID card with two sides, the card designers used to be given the choice to choose between landscape mode or portrait orientation. Both orientations have their own benefits.

Landscape orientation is useful when you want to add the information horizontally and for displaying information vertically, portrait mode is usually considered. However, when it comes to designing the double side card, then people usually don’t choose any orientation since they get plenty of space.

3- Use the printer wisely

There are specially designed printers that are used for cards on which the information is to be printed on both sides. There are old-fashioned printers in which the user has to manually flip the card after having its one side printed.

When the user touches the other side of the card which is yet to be printed, it contaminates the card. Therefore, the user should always try to use the printer that automatically flips the card while printing which automatically saves the user from having to flip the card.

4- Laminate the card

After printing the card from both sides, use a strong lamination to ensure that the card will remain safe from the dirt and dust that might damage the printing.
