Teacher Professor and Instructor ID Badge Templates for Word

What are ID badges for teachers or instructors?

The teacher, professor, and instructor ID badges are the badges issued to the respective people, working in an institution, for their identity as well as for indicating their association with the institution. These ID badges are provided by the institution to their employees, who are serving as teachers, professors, and/or instructors.

Importance of identification

The identification of an individual is vital, and when he/she is serving as an employee, it becomes even more important. The issuance of ID badges to the teachers, professors or instructors, provides the solution to many problems, such as:

  • It becomes easier to distinguish the teachers from other employees and people in an institution.
  • They indicate an instructor’s link with a certain institution.
  • The teachers can easily access their parking slots.
  • The security clearance at the entrance, or otherwise, becomes easier and quick with the ID badges.
  • It is easier to mark attendance or record working hours by scanning the ID badges.
  • The technologically advanced ID cards, with embedded codes, can help the professors complete a lot of tasks smoothly. For instance, by scanning their ID cards, they can enter the rooms, where students are not allowed, or use the photocopier free of charge, etc.
  • They can avail the discounts within and outside of the institution by showing their ID badges.

When an institute is designing the ID badges for its teachers, professors, and instructors, the task should be done carefully and properly, as these people hold a very important and respectable position in the institution.

Designing a template

The institute may design the template itself, or use a readily available from the internet or programs, such as Microsoft Word, and edit it as per the requirements.

The information that an institute wants to display and embed in an ID badge depends on its own requirements. However, the general information, that is contained in a teacher, professor, and instructor ID badge, includes the following:

  • Date of issuance.
  • Date of expiry or validity period.
  • Badge reference or series number.
  • Name and details of the teacher, including his picture, date of birth, joining date, position/title, etc.
  • Name and details of the institution, including its address, contact number, logo, slogan, any image, etc.
  • Bar or scan code.
  • Thumb impression.
  • Terms and conditions.
  • Signature of the issuing authority.

Adding information in the card

The amount of information that would be displayed on the hard copy, or the amount that would be magnetically stored, is completely the institute’s choice. Now, when technology has become sound, and the security situation has gotten worse, many institutions prefer to embed more information than display it on the face of the badge.

The professors are expected to keep the ID badges with them all the time, so to avoid any confusion as well as to smoothen the operational procedures. However, if they lose the badge, the security feature, installed through the microchips, makes the chances of misuse minimal. The person who finds the badge can easily return the badge to the address provided on the badge.
